Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article about a woman who was charged nearly $50,000 for one ER visit. The women was bitten by a stray cat she was trying to feed. Later over concerns of a rabies infection she called the health department but they were closed. So she went to the ER getting two injections and never even seeing a doctor. She went home pleased with her care. Then the $48,512 bill came in the mail with $46,422 of the total being for one injection. That injection normally costs between $3000 to $4000 according to the CDC.
