Researchers looked at data of over 400,000 finding that nearly 3000 had been diagnosed with nontuberculosis mycobacterial pulmonary disease and over 300 diagnosed with tuberculosis. Then looked to see if any of these patients were using a steroid inhaler. Discovering that those using the inhaler were twice as likely to be diagnosed with nontuberculosis mycobacterial lung disease.
