Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a study from the University of British Columbia. The study had participants that had vascular dementia from blood vessel damage. For six months one group of participants exercised by walking for an hour three times a week. The other group did not change their lifestyles. Prior to the beginning the study all participants were given MRI brain scans and other tests that measured neural activity and cognitive ability. After six months the groups were tested again finding the exercise group had improved cognition and neural activity.
