Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show discussing the news story of talk host Jimmy Kimmel. Whose infant had to undergo heart surgery to repair a congenital birth defect. Doc asserts this didn't have to happen. Contending that had the mother been taking the 90 essential nutrients prior to conception the birth defect would have been averted.
Pearls of Wisdom
Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article about an editorial written by three cardiologists. These doctors are saying that linking heart disease to dietary cholesterol and saturated fats is "misguided". Stating that heart disease is related to inflammation. Somelthing Dr. Wallach has been asserting for decades. The cardiologists are recommending lifestyle changes such as adopting a Mediterranean-style diet, regular excercise, quit smoking and stress reduction.
