Pearls of Wisdom
Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a study of the efficacy of current heart treatments. Researchers finding that the use of stents and bypass surgeries are no more effective than intensive drug treatments. Standard treatment has been implanting stents (wire mesh tubes) to hold open clogged arteries or bypass surgeries that re-direct blood around the blockage. The large study contends that the invasive procedures aren't necessary in patients who are not experiencing angina or chest pain.
