Pearls of Wisdom
Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a Harvard Medical School study on colon cancer. The study found that women who were given antibiotics for an extended period of time (more than two weeks) had an increased risk of developing colon cancer. Women who were given antibiotics for two months in their 20s and 30s had a 36% increased risk of colon cancer compared to women who didn't take the drugs. Women who were given extended antibiotics in their 40s and 50s had even a greater risk of developing colon cancer.
