The study included 21,000 white people, 10,400 African-Americans, 4000 Mexican-Americans born in the U.S. and 5500 Mexican-Americans born elsewhere. Examining risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high blood sugar levels, obesity, inactivity, smoking and poor diet.
