Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article about a study on heart disease. The study found that reducing inflammation in the body the risk of a second cardiac event were reduced. Researchers gave some patients a drug called "canakinumad". The drug targets a specific cause of inflammation called interlukin 1 beta. Others in the study got a placebo and those patients did not see a reduced risk of heart attacks or strokes.
