Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding a study from California. Finding that those who drank eight ounces of sugary soda daily can accelerate aging by nearly two years. While drinking 20 ounces daily accelerated aging by up to 4.6 years. Those drinking the sodas were found to have shorter telomeres in their DNA. Research has shown that shorter telomeres has been linked to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
