The study found that people with highest levels of trans fats in their blood were 52 to 75 percent more likely to develop dementia than people with lower levels of trans fats. The leading source of trans fats is sweet pastries, followed by margarine, candies, croissants, caramels, non-dairy creamers, ice cream and rice crackers.
